Dry Needle Therapy

An Important Part of Your Chiropractic Care Plan

Among many therapies we offer at Harbor Chiropractic, dry needling technique is designed to relieve muscle tension, reduce pain, and improve movement by addressing tight or irritated trigger points within the muscles. Typically combined with stretching, rehabilitation exercises, and other treatments, dry needling can play an important role in not only helping patients experience improved movement but recover comfortably.

More About Dry Needling Technique

Performed by one of our trained, experienced providers, dry needling technique is a treatment we offer for relieving pain and improving movement. It’s common to see dry needling as part of a broader, personalized plan, used alongside exercise, stretching, and other manual chiropractic treatments. A thin filiform needle is inserted into or near a myofascial trigger point within the muscle tissue, with a number of therapeutic goals and intended benefits, including:

  • Targeting and deactivating trigger points
  • Reducing muscle tightness and spasms
  • Improving blood flow and tissue oxygenation
  • Releasing endorphins to reset sensitized nerves
  • Support rehabilitation goals
